It is probably every connoisseur's dream to own a priceless, historical piece, and with a reproduction, one can come close to it. Reproductions are in fact precise copies of coveted masterpieces, with every detail meticulously emulated, down to the muted pastel colours. Such original masterpieces are often hundreds of years old. Reproduction makers are careful to exactly emulate the original in every detail and use both chemical and natural dyes in the construction process.

When the production of a reproduction carpet is completed, the carpet is usually treated with rocks to get a more antique look. This process is known as Stonewashing. The carpet is rubbed with stones while it is being washed to wear out the pile. After which, the carpet is exposed to the sun for an extended period so that it gets bleached.
